Danube Days is Coming to İzmir



One of the activities of the Diversity in Unity Project, being implemented by the Hungarian Cultural Centre within the scope of the Intercultural Dialogue Programme, is the ‘Danube Days’, aiming to bring the cultures of the countries along the Danube River closer to each other.

The next stop of ‘Danube Days’,  which were previously organised in different parts of İstanbul and Budapest, will be in Izmir in October.

The ‘Danube Days’ event in İzmir on the 24th of October will also host the opening ceremony of the V4 Movie Festival.


The winners of the Stories on the Danube River Story Competition will be announced in the interview programme to be held at Yaşar University on Friday, 25th of October during the İzmir Tuna Week.

10 stories will be selected by a jury of Fuat Sevimay and Hakan Akdoğan, and these will then be presented in a book to be published in three languages: Hungarian, Turkish, and English.

The author of the first selected story will be invited to the event at the 2020 Budapest International Book Fair. In addition, a Storytel 6-month membership will be given as a gift to the authors of 10 stories to explore the world of audiobooks.

On Friday, 25th of October at 14:00, the jury members author Fuat Sevimay and founder of Kalem Agency Nermin Mollaoğlu, in the moderation of the author Gülşah Elikbank will discuss “Writing for a contest, evaluate the Literature, and translating literary texts” in the story contest awards event in İzmir at Yaşar University.
